Adoption: Touching Lives

November is set aside as adoption awareness month, and I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate it! Before we began our process of adoption, I had some friends who had adopted, but I didnt give it a whole lot of thought. Now, it’s ALL I think about!

President Trump gave a speech about this month and said, “My Administration also acknowledges the courage of those mothers and fathers who place their child for adoption. Our Nation grows stronger because of the love and sacrifice of parents, both birth and adoptive.”

Adoption Checklist

The adoption process has a funny way of making you think about things you’ve never thought about before. How do you decide what boxes to check on an adoption application? I’ve dreaded this post. In fact, I’ve avoided it, wondering if it needed to be posted. But I know that my struggle is one that many have shared, are sharing, or will share at some point. I know that my story isn’t everyone’s story, but if you’ll read to the end, I think the application might apply.

Adventure Awaits

We have been waiting for what seems like an eternity to officially announce that we are adopting. God has very clearly directed our hearts to this new adventure, and we could not be more excited. Let me start from the beginning. I have ALWAYS wanted to adopt. I remember even in high school listening to a preacher talk about his wife’s love for abandoned children, and how they had adopted, and I remember thinking that that had to be one of the truest forms of love there is in this world. What a beautiful picture of our adoption into God’s family.
