November is set aside as adoption awareness month, and I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate it! Before we began our process of adoption, I had some friends who had adopted, but I didnt give it a whole lot of thought. Now, it’s ALL I think about!

President Trump gave a speech about this month and said, “My Administration also acknowledges the courage of those mothers and fathers who place their child for adoption. Our Nation grows stronger because of the love and sacrifice of parents, both birth and adoptive.”

The home is the foundation of any country. If we want our country to be strong, than we need strong homes. We have an opportunity to give a child a strong home, and I am so excited to bring home our baby.

But I’m not the only one. Our agency has twenty-some waiting parents. There are no definitive numbers, but some estimate there are somewhere between 1-2 million couples waiting for an adoption of some sort in the United States. And in that huge number, think about how many children will be placed, how many birth moms are affected, and how many siblings will welcome home a new brother or sister. Adoption touches so many people.

In the month of November, I’d like to hear from you about how adoption touches you and your family. I am featuring several adoption stories, and would love to feature yours on my site. Email me at Michelle@anythingbutordinarylife.com
